MP Hassan Fadlallah said from Parliament: “We reiterate that the enemy’s attempt to establish a security belt on our land and to recreate a new Antoine Lahd in the region will be brought down by the sacrifices of the resistance and the steadfastness of our people.”
He continued: “In the face of the daily killing of defenseless civilians in the south and the systematic destruction of our border villages, the authorities and their instruments must immediately abandon concessionary options, stop the rhetoric of incitement and treason accusations, and cease antagonizing a large segment of the Lebanese, because this serves the enemy on the one hand and threatens stability and Lebanon’s power-sharing formula enshrined in the Taif Agreement on the other.”
He added: “All of this strips these authorities of their role and legitimacy as stipulated in the preamble of the Constitution, and turns them into a side biased toward choices that run against the majority of their people. No matter how hard they try, they will not obtain national cover for their direct negotiations with the enemy.”
He stressed that “the required solution is clear: the authorities must return to their people in a way that preserves Lebanon’s unity and sovereignty.”
