A targeting phone call shakes Kayfoun... and a building is evacuated!

The municipality of Kayfoun, in the Aley district, announced that a home in the town had received a phone call demanding the evacuation of the building ahead of its targeting.

In a statement, the municipality said the call was received at the home of Mr. Shehab Awada in the Harsh area, noting that after verification and follow-up, it became clear that the number from which the call was made belonged to the Israeli army.

It added that, out of responsibility and as a matter of caution and prudence, the threatened house as well as the adjacent and directly surrounding homes were ordered evacuated for 24 hours as a precautionary measure to preserve public safety.

The municipality stressed that this measure comes as a preventive step and out of concern for the safety of residents.
