The Finance and Budget Committee announced the approval of a set of measures related to social security, foremost among them exemption from late-payment penalties and the possibility of paying debts in installments, as part of efforts to address outstanding financial files.
MP Ibrahim Kanaan said after the session that the committee will hold a meeting next week to follow up on the financial and monetary situation, particularly with regard to revenues, loans, appropriations, and the circulars issued by Banque du Liban.
He added that the discussion also covered proposals aimed at strengthening the funding sources of the Public Corporation for Housing, in a way that would give Lebanese youth the opportunity to own homes, alongside follow-up on proposals to ensure fairness for full-time doctors and pharmacists in the State Employees Cooperative, thereby achieving equality with the rest of the employees.
