Baalbek, Baabda and Aley in the scope of security operations... Army raids wanted suspects’ hideouts and seizes weapons

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

"Army units carried out security measures in various areas, including raids and the setting up of temporary checkpoints, as part of efforts to pursue those disrupting security. As a result, 6 Lebanese citizens and 3 Syrians were arrested, as follows:

• Raids on the homes of wanted individuals in the towns of Maqneh, Brital and Iaat – Baalbek led to the arrest of 4 citizens and 3 Syrians for attempting to carry out a robbery. A quantity of weapons and military ammunition was seized, along with a number of stolen cars and motorcycles.

• Citizen (A.Z.) was arrested in the Hadath area – Baabda, for committing several crimes: forming an armed theft and robbery gang, carrying out kidnappings, opening fire, provoking disturbances, and extortion.

• Raids on the homes of wanted individuals in the areas of Doha Aramoun and Khaldeh – Aley resulted in the seizure of a quantity of weapons and military ammunition, in addition to military gear.

• Citizen (K.M.) was arrested for opening fire during an altercation, and a quantity of weapons and military ammunition was seized, in addition to military gear.

The seized items were handed over, and an investigation into the detainees was launched under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
