President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun saluted workers on their holiday, praising their daily efforts and continued sacrifices in building the nation and safeguarding its dignity.
On this occasion, he said: "Our country has gone through, and continues to go through, harsh and exceptional circumstances that have weighed heavily on every citizen, with workers bearing the greatest share of this suffering. I fully understand the scale of the challenges you face, from hardship in making a living to the fluctuations of the economic situation, and the pressures that successive crises have imposed on your daily lives. Despite this, you have shown rare resilience and determination to work and produce, and you have been, and remain, the fundamental pillar on which Lebanon’s economy stands."
President Aoun added: "In cooperation with the government, we worked to launch a reform process aimed at reviving the economic situation and achieving stability, before the recent war swept through the country and further complicated matters. Nevertheless, our resolve has not and will not be broken, and we are moving forward in making every possible effort to rebuild what was destroyed, restore confidence, and create job opportunities worthy of the dignity of the Lebanese people."
The President concluded: "I reaffirm my commitment, together with the government, to continue working to improve workers’ conditions by supporting their rights, strengthening social protection, and ensuring a fair working environment that preserves their dignity and rewards their efforts. You are the backbone of the Lebanese economy; through you the nation rises, and without you no reform plan can succeed or endure."
