
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam issued memorandum No. 2026/11, stipulating the closure of government departments, public institutions, municipalities and their unions, in addition to schools and universities, on Monday, May 25, 2026, on the occasion of “Resistance and Liberation Day.”
The memorandum stated that the decision comes “in solidarity with the families of the martyrs, the wounded, the prisoners, the displaced, and the people of the South and the frontline villages, and in support of their steadfastness.”
It was announced that the aforementioned day would be considered a comprehensive official holiday, with all official facilities and public institutions across the various Lebanese regions to be closed.
