U.S. President Donald Trump warned of serious consequences if Iran refuses to accept an agreement to end the war in the Middle East, threatening to “open the gates of hell” against it. Meanwhile, Tehran denied having any intention to engage in negotiations, according to Agence France-Presse.
During a dinner with Republican members of Congress, Trump stressed that Iran is already engaged in peace talks, suggesting that its denial stems from internal fears among Iranian negotiators.
He said: “They are negotiating, by the way, and they very much want to make a deal. But they are afraid to say so, because they think if they do, they will be killed by their own people. They are also afraid that they will be killed by us.”
