The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) affirmed that civilians in southern Lebanon continue to bear the heaviest burden as a result of the ongoing violence and instability in the region.
It noted that the damage to homes, roads, and infrastructure has directly affected the daily lives of residents and has also hindered recovery efforts and the restoration of stability in the south.
UNIFIL added that it continues to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to local communities, alongside supporting residents and monitoring any potential violations of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
It stressed that achieving long-term stability requires creating the appropriate conditions for the safe return of civilians to their homes and livelihoods on both sides of the Blue Line.
