
The Association of Private Generator Owners, in a statement, clarified the circumstances surrounding the Saqiet al-Janzir incident, condemning "the assault to which one of the generator owners was subjected," and stressing "the need to hold those responsible accountable in accordance with legal and judicial frameworks."
The association said it remains committed to the principle of resorting to the law in resolving disputes, stressing its "rejection of any violent or unlawful method in handling disagreements," and considering that "any violation must be addressed through the competent institutions and by the approved legal means, in a way that preserves the dignity of all parties."
In a related context, it pointed to "the role played by the private generator sector in securing electricity for citizens in various regions, especially in light of the difficult circumstances the country is going through, which requires dealing with this sector responsibly and in a balanced manner."
The association also called on the government and the Ministry of Energy to "reconsider the adopted pricing mechanism and work on establishing a fair and equitable approach that takes into account the interests of both citizens and generator owners alike, in a way that helps ease tensions and reduce disputes."
It concluded its statement by emphasizing "the importance of regulating this sector in a clear and fair manner, in a way that ensures its continuity and provides citizens with a stable service within a sound legal framework."
