
The UAE Ministry of Defense announced that air defense systems had responded to missile attacks and drones believed to have come from Iran, explaining that the sounds heard in a number of areas across the country were the result of aerial interception operations.
In an official statement, the ministry said that "four cruise missiles were detected heading toward the country. Three of them were successfully intercepted over territorial waters, while the fourth missile fell into the sea."
The statement added that "the sounds reported in various areas were the result of the successful interception and neutralization of these threats," urging the public to obtain information from official sources, adhere to public safety procedures, and follow instructions when any alerts are issued.
In a related development, the Fujairah Government Media Office announced a "fire in the Fujairah oil industries area following a strike by a drone from Iran."
