An Israeli political source told Channel 12 that the United States continues to keep Israel informed of developments in the negotiations concerning the memorandum of understanding on the Iranian file, as part of efforts aimed at reaching a final agreement on the disputed points.
According to the source, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed during his conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump that Israel retains its full right to freedom of action against any potential threats on various fronts, including the Lebanese front, a position Trump reaffirmed his support for during the call.
The source indicated that Trump renewed his commitment to his core conditions, foremost among them the complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of all quantities of enriched uranium from Iranian territory, stressing that he would not sign any final agreement unless these conditions were met.
He also explained that Netanyahu expressed his appreciation for the U.S. position and Trump’s continued support for Israel’s security, at a time when international contacts are intensifying amid talk of an imminent understanding between Washington and Tehran on the framework of a possible agreement.
