
President Joseph Aoun received a phone call from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, during which they discussed the current situation in Lebanon in light of the ongoing military developments.
The German President affirmed his country’s support for Lebanon and its people amid the difficult circumstances they are facing, expressing Germany’s readiness to assist Lebanon across various sectors to help alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people. He also reiterated Germany’s support for the negotiation initiative launched by President Aoun to de-escalate tensions, expressing readiness to contribute to this effort. Additionally, he noted that Germany will send urgent humanitarian aid to displaced individuals who were forced to leave their homes due to the military situation.
President Aoun thanked President Steinmeier for Germany’s supportive stance toward Lebanon and the presidential initiative, as well as for the humanitarian and medical assistance that Germany intends to provide to support the Lebanese people.
Both leaders agreed to maintain communication to follow up on political and military developments and their repercussions.
