Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iranian forces will respond to any attacks on the country’s energy facilities.
He added that Iranian forces will target American-owned facilities in the region, or those affiliated with U.S. companies, if Iran’s installations are attacked.
Araghchi noted that the attack on Kharg Island originated from neighboring territories, with Americans launching HIMARS missiles from nearby countries.
“We will certainly respond to these attacks, while taking care to avoid targeting densely populated areas,” he said.
He also mentioned that the U.S. strikes yesterday were launched from Ras Al Khaimah and an area near Dubai.
Araghchi emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz remains open, but is closed to tankers and ships belonging to Iran’s enemies and their allies, while several other vessels continue to pass through the strait.
