
The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement:
“On 22-04-2026, a social media platform circulated a video showing a man throwing stones at passing cars in the Roumieh area, shattering their windows, posing a danger to drivers and their companions, and causing panic among citizens.
Immediately, the Broummana police station of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit launched field and intelligence measures to identify the perpetrator and work to arrest him.
On 23-04-2026, as a result of follow-up, inquiries, and intensive investigations in coordination with the Mount Lebanon Investigation Unit, its personnel were able to determine the identity and location of the suspect, who was subsequently arrested. He is identified as:
J. H. (born in 1990, Lebanese)
During questioning, he confessed to what was attributed to him, stating that he had thrown stones at the cars while under the influence of drugs, imagining that the vehicles were trying to attack him.
He was arrested on charges of drug use, throwing stones at cars, and endangering their occupants, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.”
