Shouheib from Baabda: Reaffirms support for Aoun’s course: There is no security except under the authority of the state

MP Akram Chehayeb said after meeting the President of the Republic:

I congratulated President Aoun on his safe return from Washington and was briefed by him on the results of the meetings he held with American officials, foremost among them President Donald Trump. I stressed the importance of what the President of the Republic declared during the visit regarding Lebanon’s right to preserve its sovereignty and protect its territory, and the need for Israeli forces to withdraw from the areas they occupy in the south, in addition to working to preserve national unity and the role of the army institution in maintaining and protecting it, as well as ensuring that the Lebanese state alone is responsible for security and has exclusive control over arms across all Lebanese territory.
