Aoun: Targeting Civil Defense Threatens Humanity… We Will Continue Efforts to Stop the Violations

President General Joseph Aoun expressed his deep sorrow and regret over the martyrdom of two Civil Defense personnel today as a result of the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory, despite the declared ceasefire, considering the targeting of those engaged in humanitarian and relief missions a flagrant violation of international law and all humanitarian principles.

President Aoun extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the two martyrs and to the Civil Defense agency, praising the sacrifices its members make to protect citizens and save lives under the most difficult circumstances.

The President stressed that the continuation of the Israeli attacks undermines efforts to consolidate calm, and that he will spare no effort in working with the relevant international parties to stop the repeated violations and secure a full Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territories.

President Aoun also underscored his determination to continue diplomatic contacts and moves with brotherly and friendly countries and the international community, with the aim of protecting Lebanese sovereignty and ensuring the security and stability of the Lebanese people.
