The Jordan Armed Forces announced that air defense systems intercepted and shot down at dawn on Wednesday five missiles coming from Iran that were headed toward Jordanian territory, as part of ongoing monitoring and tracking operations to protect the kingdom’s airspace.
The military’s official spokesperson said the interception was carried out in accordance with the approved rules of engagement, confirming the success of the air defenses in dealing with the missiles and preventing them from reaching their targets.
He stressed that the Jordan Armed Forces continue to carry out their duties in protecting the kingdom’s skies and safeguarding its security and sovereignty, affirming that they will deal firmly with any threat targeting the nation’s security or the safety of its citizens, and will not hesitate to confront any attack that infringes on Jordanian territory.
