Hezbollah issued a statement regarding the accusations made by the Syrian Interior Ministry:
“Hezbollah denies the false and fabricated allegations issued by the Syrian Interior Ministry regarding its connection to a cell that was allegedly working to carry out an assassination of a religious figure. It reiterates its declared position that it has no activity, links, or relationship with any party in Syria, and has no presence on Syrian territory.
Hezbollah also affirms its concern for Syria’s security, stability, and the safety of its people in all their components, and calls on the relevant authorities in the Syrian state to verify carefully before making accusations at random, especially in light of the presence of intelligence agencies seeking to ignite tension between Lebanon and Syria.”
