
Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam received at the Grand Serail a delegation from the Association of Retired Armed Forces Personnel, headed by former MP Brigadier General Chamel Roukoz.
Following the meeting, the association issued the following statement:
“In light of the delicate circumstances our country is going through, and the serious security and national challenges facing Lebanon, the Association of Retired Armed Forces Personnel visited Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, where discussions focused on the current situation and developments related to the ongoing war and its repercussions on the Lebanese arena.
During the meeting, the association reaffirmed its steadfast national stance, stemming from its historical and moral responsibility. It placed its full capabilities and expertise at the disposal of the Lebanese state, stressing the readiness of its members to contribute to any national effort aimed at تعزيز resilience, supporting stability, and assisting official institutions in confronting current challenges.
The association also underscored the importance of unifying national ranks and strengthening coordination among various official and civil entities, in a manner that preserves Lebanon’s security and sovereignty and fortifies the internal front during this sensitive phase.
The association concluded by affirming that its members, who have served in the armed forces, will remain committed to defending the nation, placing their experience and expertise at the service of Lebanon and its people, under the authority of the state and its legitimate institutions.”
