MP Ibrahim Kanaan after meeting the President of the Republic at Baabda Palace:
Internal stability and strengthening an effective international presence are a priority at the current stage.
There is no alternative to the state and its institutions, from the President of the Republic to the military institution, all the way to all Lebanese.
No war in service of foreign agendas, and no peace at the expense of sovereignty; the goal is one: protecting Lebanon, its borders, its stability, and its people.
War, under the current international and regional balances, does not serve Lebanon’s interest.
A ceasefire constitutes an entry point to a new phase that is being prepared, paving the way for a settlement that is not far off.
Lebanon is affected economically by global conditions, and with the end of this phase, the need for reforms emerges to restore the confidence of the Lebanese people and the international community.
