
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi affirmed that the chances of achieving peace in the Middle East are now closer than ever, calling on the parties concerned to preserve the diplomatic momentum and not allow the available opportunities to be squandered in ending tensions.
Wang Yi made the remarks during a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart, Ishaq Dar, stressing that the efforts made and the achievements reached so far should serve as a foundation for pushing the path of de-escalation and negotiations forward.
The Chinese minister called on the United States and Iran to honor their commitments and respect the terms of the memorandum of understanding, emphasizing that adherence to dialogue and the political track remains the main path toward reaching stable solutions in the region.
Wang Yi noted that his country would continue to support the mediation efforts led by Pakistan and would remain engaged in playing a positive and constructive role in helping reduce escalation and enhance the chances of reaching understandings.
For his part, the Pakistani foreign minister praised China’s role, affirming that Islamabad would continue its diplomatic efforts to bring the parties’ positions closer together and push the negotiation process toward practical results.
