The following statement was issued by the Zahle district of the Lebanese Forces:
The Zahle district of the Lebanese Forces strongly condemns, in the harshest terms, the horrific crime that shook the city and claimed the life of citizen Christine Al-Tann, after she was lured from her place of residence at the Park Hotel Chtaura to the Jabal Chtaura area, where she was subjected to a criminal assault that led to her death in a brutal manner that has shocked public opinion.
This heinous crime, with all the cruelty and inhumanity it entails, constitutes a blatant assault on the security and dignity of citizens, and has sparked a state of anxiety and widespread anger among the people of Zahle and the Bekaa.
While the Lebanese Forces express their full solidarity with the victim’s family and loved ones, they call on the competent security and judicial authorities to move quickly and effectively to uncover the circumstances of the crime, arrest all those involved, and impose the harshest penalties on them, in a way that ensures justice is served and prevents the recurrence of such crimes.
The Lebanese Forces also stress that any negligence in uncovering this crime, or any delay in addressing it, threatens citizens’ sense of safety and poses a danger to civil peace and the authority of the state, which requires the utmost seriousness and firmness in follow-up.
The city of Zahle, with its history and its people, rejects and denounces such criminal acts, calling for a strong state capable of protecting its citizens and safeguarding their security and dignity.
Accordingly, the Lebanese Forces in Zahle extend their deepest heartfelt condolences to the family of the slain Christine and to all the people of Zahle, asking God to receive her into the embrace of the saints and to grant her family patience and strength to overcome the pain of separation and the bitterness of loss.
