
The Litani River National Authority announced the completion of maintenance and rehabilitation works on the main conduit of the Qasmiyeh–Ras al-Ain irrigation canal project in the town of Arzi, as part of an emergency plan aimed at addressing the damage caused by the recent attacks, ensuring the continuity of the public utility, and securing irrigation water for farmers.
In a statement, it explained that the works included repairing the damaged sections of the canal, reinforcing structural segments, and rehabilitating operational components in line with approved technical standards, in a way that ensures stable flow and improves the efficiency of water distribution across the network.
It stressed that this achievement was made despite the security and logistical challenges, underscoring its commitment to continuing field operations and ensuring the launch of the irrigation season on schedule, in a manner that helps protect food security and support the resilience of the agricultural sector.
