Berri on Army Day: "The Lebanese Army is the model that tests and is not tested, examines and is not examined"

On the occasion of Lebanese Army Day on August 1, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri extended a salute of appreciation and pride to the military institution, stressing its national role in protecting Lebanon and safeguarding its unity and stability.

Berri said: "For eighty-one years, the Lebanese Army has remained the model that tests and is not tested, examines and is not examined in unity, identity, belonging, sacrifice and loyalty, in دفاع of Lebanon, the one, united and exemplary homeland to which the Lebanese aspire—not the exemplary cantons whose borders are drawn by the Israeli occupier with fire, killing and destruction."

Berri added: "The army is the army of Lebanon and the Lebanese; it is of them and for them, and the focus of their hopes in protecting sovereignty, liberating the land and the people, and preserving stability and civil peace. To this unifying national institution on its anniversary—to its commander, officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, martyrs and wounded—I extend a salute of pride and appreciation. Through you and with you, we protect and forge Lebanon's resurgence and complete the liberation of its land."
