The U.S. Secretary of Defense confirmed that the United States continues its military operations against Iran according to a clear plan and with decisive precision.
He noted that the targeted strikes aim to undermine Iran’s military and war-related industrial capabilities. He added that U.S. forces have been systematically destroying Iran’s military capacities, pointing to a noticeable decline in the number of missiles launched by Tehran over the past 24 hours.
He continued that the military operations also aim to destroy Iran’s naval capabilities, stressing that Washington will not accept living under missile or nuclear blackmail.
The U.S. defense chief also stated that Iran has been targeting its neighbors in the region indiscriminately, describing Tehran’s attacks on neighboring countries as a grave mistake and accusing it of launching missiles from civilian locations, including schools and hospitals.
He revealed that today will witness the launch of the largest number of fighter jets and bombers against Iran so far, confirming that the planned strikes will be the most intense yet.
He explained that the military operation does not have an open-ended timeline, but will continue within its defined framework, adding that it will end when U.S. President Donald Trump decides so.
He also warned that any Iranian move to halt oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz would be met with a stronger response than ever before, stressing that the United States has allocated all the necessary resources to continue the military operations.
In the same context, the U.S. official noted that Israel has different objectives in the confrontation, while the United States is currently focused on achieving its own military goals in this phase.
