
The European Union expressed concern over the potential expansion of the conflict to include Lebanon amid rising tensions linked to the confrontation between Iran and Israel.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas stated that “the European Union warns of Lebanon sliding into a new front in the conflict between Iran and Israel.”
Kallas called for de-escalation and emphasized the need to halt military actions, adding that “the European Union’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas calls on Hezbollah to stop attacks, disarm, and criticizes Israel’s response to Lebanon.”
She also affirmed the EU’s continued support for international forces operating in southern Lebanon, noting that “Kallas confirms the EU’s support for the UNIFIL mission and urges respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty and the protection of civilians.”
On the humanitarian front, the EU announced the allocation of emergency aid for those affected by the escalation, highlighting that “the European Union is providing urgent assistance to around 130,000 people affected by the fighting.”
