Sources close to artist Fadel Shaker have revealed details of his daily life inside detention, as his case nears a decisive ruling before the courts in Lebanon.
According to the information, Shaker is not serving his detention in a conventional prison, but rather in a designated room inside the Lebanese Ministry of Defense headquarters, given the nature of his trial before the military judiciary.
Lebanese critic Mahmoud Al-Khatib explained that the singer is living in a state of calm anticipation, devoting his time to following his periodic court hearings, with a complete halt to his artistic activity, as he refuses to record any new works before a final ruling clears him.
His circle of communication remains limited to members of his family and his legal defense team, who visit him regularly and follow developments in the judicial file.
At the same time, new legal developments have emerged that could affect the course of the case, most notably the exclusion of the charge of participation in the Abra battle, after documented testimonies proved his non-involvement, narrowing the scope of the remaining accusations against him.
According to the same source, the dispute that had previously occurred between Shaker and Ahmad al-Assir prompted the artist to give up his weapon before the outbreak of clashes with the Lebanese army, leaving the main current charge tied to belonging to an armed group, amid efforts by the defense team to have it dropped.
Despite his absence from the artistic scene, Fadel Shaker’s name remains strongly present, after he recently won awards during Riyadh Season, which were received by his son on his behalf, in a scene that reflected his continued presence among his audience.
