Saudi Arabia’s Public Health Authority, Weqaya, reassured citizens, residents and the pilgrims performing Hajj on Thursday, confirming that no confirmed or suspected cases of the Ebola virus have been recorded داخل the kingdom, and stressing that the overall health situation among pilgrims is stable and under close round-the-clock monitoring.
The authority said it is continuously following developments in the Ebola outbreak in both the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, while also monitoring global updates related to the Hantavirus, in coordination with the relevant international health organizations, as part of a fully operational epidemiological surveillance system.
Weqaya added that it has raised the level of health response at all points of entry by activating rapid response teams and strengthening awareness and guidance measures for travelers arriving from affected countries and regions, alongside boosting the readiness of health facilities and intensifying daily epidemiological surveillance, particularly at sites where pilgrims arriving from areas neighboring outbreak hotspots gather, in order to ensure the highest levels of prevention and health safety.
