Intensive contacts to halt the escalation between Lebanon and Israel amid anticipation of a possible agreement

Lebanon is engaged in intensive contacts, in coordination with the United States, aimed at reaching a comprehensive ceasefire with Israel as part of efforts to contain the ongoing escalation along the border.

According to information, an agreement on a ceasefire could be announced at midnight tomorrow local time, if the understandings currently under discussion among the parties concerned are completed.

Meanwhile, Israeli approval of the ceasefire formula remains undecided so far, leaving the diplomatic track open to several possibilities pending the coming hours.
