The Lebanese Democratic Party condemns in the strongest terms the targeting of journalist Amal Khalil and her martyrdom as a result of the Israeli aggression, in a continuation of a clear approach based on targeting the press and media corps to silence the free voice and undermine its role. What happened was not an isolated incident, but rather part of a systematic policy aimed at striking the media and breaking any means or platform that conveys the truth.
The party stresses that the continued targeting of journalists constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and norms, and requires a firm stance to put an end to these repeated attacks. It also emphasizes that protecting media professionals in Lebanon is not a minor detail, but a national responsibility, and that international silence in the face of these crimes is no longer acceptable.
