The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On 2026/4/16, in the context of the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon, the coastal Qasmiyeh–Tyre bridge was targeted and destroyed with the aim of separating the area south of the Litani from its north and isolating it. The attack also resulted in one person being killed and two others wounded, in addition to the injury of a soldier from the unit stationed on the bridge.
The Army Command affirmed that the specialized units will inspect the bridge, assess its condition, and rehabilitate it as soon as possible.
