Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam received a phone call from Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, who expressed his solidarity with the Lebanese people amid the difficult circumstances Lebanon is facing.
President Al-Sharaa also stressed that the reinforcement of the military presence along the Syrian-Lebanese border aims solely at strengthening border control and maintaining Syria’s internal security. He noted that these measures are similar to those taken along Syria’s border with Iraq, and highlighted the importance of continued coordination between the two countries.
For his part, Prime Minister Salam thanked the Syrian president for his call and for expressing solidarity with the Lebanese people, emphasizing the importance of maintaining consultation and cooperation between Lebanon and Syria.
