Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam received a delegation from the National Salvation Forum, headed by Dr. Harith Suleiman, and was presented with a memorandum outlining the Forum’s demands and vision for the coming phase.
After the meeting, Dr. Suleiman said:
“We were honored to visit the Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, at the head of a delegation from the National Salvation Forum. We reaffirmed our full solidarity and support for the courageous decisions taken by the Council of Ministers, whether regarding the monopoly of weapons by state institutions or other decisions that deemed Hezbollah’s military and security wing outside the law.
We also emphasized the importance of providing shelter for displaced persons, ensuring that the state takes responsibility for their care, and that the relationship with them remains directly with the state, avoiding any partisan or dual-channel arrangements.
We further stressed the civil nature of the shelters, which must remain free from political alignments or factional administration and fall entirely under the authority of the state.
The Prime Minister assured us of his determination and commitment to restoring the state in all its aspects, noting that this is a long-term process requiring time, effort, and cumulative achievements, built step by step, layer by layer.”
