MTV reported that an anticipated meeting will be held between Lebanon and Israel with the participation of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. Washington time, corresponding to 11:00 p.m. Beirut time.
In a related context, a U.S. source told the channel that Lebanon is heading into the negotiations with a clear position centered on prioritizing an extension of the ceasefire before entering into any other issues.
On the other hand, U.S. sources noted that the Lebanese proposal tends toward reviving previous security agreements between Lebanon and Israel, while Washington believes these experiences did not achieve the desired results in the past and contributed to the current situation.
