Italy’s foreign minister from Baabda: “Italy is ready to host negotiations between Lebanon and Israel to reach a state of stability”

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani from Baabda Palace:

It is very important that the meetings beginning tomorrow in Washington result in a ceasefire, and Italy is ready to host negotiations between Lebanon and Israel to reach a state of stability.

Italy’s goal is to build peace and reach an agreement between Israel and Lebanon, and dialogue between them is a very positive matter.

I agreed with President Aoun on many points, and we hope that the suffering of civilians in Lebanon will stop as soon as possible.

We support Lebanese institutions, starting with the presidency, and we are working to strengthen the capabilities of the Lebanese army through the Italian bilateral military mission.

Italy condemns Hezbollah’s military attack on Israel because it hinders the peace process, and we are counting on the role of the Lebanese army to ensure unity and stability in Lebanon.

We asked Israel to stop attacks on Lebanese civilians and against UNIFIL forces.

We want to support the Lebanese people and the displaced, and we will do so soon.
