The leader of the Kataeb Party, MP Sami Gemayel, received a phone call from Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara that lasted over an hour. The conversation addressed the regional situation and the ongoing conflict in the area, as well as the nature of Lebanon-Syria relations in the upcoming phase. The call was described as very positive and reassuring regarding the possibility of opening a new chapter in relations between the two countries.
During the discussion, President Al-Shara emphasized that the relationship between Lebanon and Syria should be based on mutual respect, economic cooperation, and integration in a way that serves the interests of both peoples.
