The White House confirmed that the United States can take control of Khark Island “at any time” if it chooses to do so, following a media report stating that President Donald Trump’s administration was reportedly considering plans to occupy or blockade the area, through which most of Iran’s crude oil exports pass, according to AFP.
In response to a question about the report published by Axios, Anna Kelly, Deputy White House Press Secretary, said in a statement to AFP that the U.S. military is capable of taking control of Khark Island “at any time if the President gives the order.”
