After sharp criticism from German Chancellor Friedrich Merz over the US attack on Iran, US President Donald Trump responded, writing on his Truth Social platform and criticizing Merz: "He does not know what he is talking about. If Iran had a nuclear weapon, the whole world would be hostage."
He added: "I am doing something with Iran, now, that other countries, or presidents, should have done a long time ago. No wonder Germany is doing so badly, economically and otherwise."
