Amid the ceasefire in Lebanon, Israeli army forces continue operating within the designated “Yellow Line” zone, which includes 55 Lebanese villages. The main activity of the forces consists of reshaping the area along its length, primarily using engineering vehicles, including D9 bulldozers, with the aim of demolishing and blowing up entire areas.
Within the security establishment, it is understood that the next few days will see the firm entrenchment of the forces’ positioning on the Yellow Line, with fire control similar to what is in place in the Gaza Strip.
The army is seeking to establish an organized mechanism for enforcing the ceasefire, including control and monitoring of any threat that may develop against the forces.
The main gaps at present lie in how to deal with the areas located outside the Yellow Line. The army is no longer carrying out attacks in Beirut, but the future of the area between the Yellow Line and the Litani River remains unclear. The army hopes it will be allowed to carry out raids within the framework of the oversight mechanism that will be established.
