The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, reported that Washington and Beijing are considering launching formal talks on artificial intelligence.
The newspaper said the White House and the Chinese government are studying the possibility of placing artificial intelligence on the agenda of the anticipated summit in Beijing between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The report added that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent would lead the U.S. side in the proposed talks on artificial intelligence, while Beijing has not yet determined who would lead its side.
