Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and the presidential special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, warned that the world is approaching an unprecedented energy crisis, saying current indicators point to an extremely sensitive phase for global markets.
Dmitriev wrote on his account on the X platform:
"The world is sleepwalking toward the biggest energy crisis in history, and only now have some smart people begun to notice it."
The Russian official’s remarks came in response to an interview investor Eric Nuttall gave to a U.S. media outlet, in which he predicted that oil prices could rise to around $150 per barrel in the coming period amid escalating tensions and the pressures facing global energy markets.
