The Ministry of Public Works and Transport continues to carry out field operations in southern Lebanon as part of the “Reconnecting Lebanon” campaign, through focused interventions targeting the most severely affected points on the road network, helping to gradually restore traffic flow and secure movement between villages and towns.
Under the direct instructions of His Excellency the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, specialized teams are carrying out debris removal, damage treatment, and obstacle clearance within a flexible field plan that keeps pace with emerging needs and gives priority to vital routes.
In this context, the works carried out covered a number of key locations, including:
• Burj Rahhal Bridge: paving works on damaged layers, alongside debris removal and damage treatment along the route, while keeping the road open to traffic.
• The town of Smaiyeh – Al Ismail neighborhood: removal of heavy debris and reopening of internal roads that had been completely blocked due to the accumulation of rubble.
• Al Bayad – main road: backfilling works and treatment of potholes and partial collapses, improving the road’s passability.

• Baraachit: removal of rubble resulting from damaged buildings and reopening of roads that had been completely blocked, with debris transported using specialized machinery.
• Al Bazourieh: debris removal and reopening of roads, especially at the main entrances, in addition to clearing scattered rubble from residential neighborhoods.
• Kfartebnit: debris removal from narrow internal roads, with rubble loaded and transported using light machinery to allow routes to reopen to traffic.

• Kfarjouz: rubble removal and cleaning around damaged buildings, along with initial rehabilitation of the route to facilitate movement within neighborhoods.
Field works also included dismantling and removing collapsed structural parts that were obstructing traffic and posing a risk to public safety, in addition to the continuous loading and transport of rubble, cleaning and sweeping of internal roads, and initial treatment of road surfaces by leveling remaining debris and improving passability.
These works come within the framework of ongoing efforts to ensure the continuity of vital public facilities, as the ministry continues to strengthen the deployment of its teams in the field, allowing for a rapid response to any emergency and accelerating the pace of treatment according to priorities.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport affirms that it will continue working under the “Reconnecting Lebanon” campaign across various routes, with the aim of gradually rehabilitating the road network and improving its readiness, in support of the return of normal life to the affected areas.
