Message Addressed to His Excellency the President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun
National Greetings,
From the heart of pain and resilience, we raise this cry on behalf of the President of the "My Home, Your Home" Association to Your Excellency, calling for support for the steadfastness of the residents of Marjeyoun, Al-Qulay‘a, and the surrounding villages. They have been living for more than two and a half weeks without water, following damage to the main water line connecting the region to the treatment plant, while the responsible authorities have been unable to repair it due to the absence of the necessary permits.
Your Excellency, the people here are not asking for luxury… but for their basic right to life. The water outage is not a minor issue; it is a vital daily necessity. Its absence has turned the lives of families into severe hardship: children, the elderly, and patients are facing the risk of dehydration and disease under extremely difficult security and humanitarian conditions.
Since the beginning of the crisis, the "My Home, Your Home" Association has been providing water deliveries to homes at its own expense, in an attempt to contain the disaster.
However, despite the importance of this effort, it can no longer continue or meet the growing demand. The crisis is escalating, people are being drained, and there is no clear horizon for a solution.
Your Excellency, this line serves an entire region, and leaving it nonfunctional means abandoning thousands of citizens to their fate. We do not have the luxury of waiting, nor the capacity to endure any longer.
Therefore, we appeal for your personal and immediate intervention to remove all obstacles and issue the necessary orders to repair this line as soon as possible. Saving people from thirst is a national and humanitarian duty that cannot be postponed.
Do not leave us alone in this ordeal… our resilience on our land begins with a single drop of water.
With utmost respect and appreciation,
President of "My Home, Your Home" Association
Rania Afif
