The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it carried out airstrikes on sites in southern Iran early this week.
The command said in a statement that the strikes targeted “a radar and drone command-and-control centers in the Iranian areas of Gorouk and Qeshm Island.”
It said the raids came “in response to hostile Iranian actions, including the downing of a US MQ-1 drone that was flying over international waters.”
For its part, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced that it had targeted an air base used in the US attack on a communications tower on Sirik Island in southern Iran.
