
Minister of Social Affairs Haneen El‑Sayed announced from Baabda Palace that she briefed President Joseph Aoun on the latest developments regarding Lebanon’s response plan to the displacement crisis.
El-Sayed stated that the number of displaced people registered on the official platform has reached around 780,000, while approximately 120,000 are currently staying in shelter centers.
She explained that the meeting addressed the main challenges facing the response plan, in addition to the humanitarian aid arriving in Lebanon to support the displaced. She noted that a humanitarian aid plane from the European Union arrived yesterday, and its assistance will be distributed through shelter centers. Additional aid shipments are also expected to arrive from Jordan, France, and other countries.
El-Sayed added that the discussion also covered the contacts being carried out by President Aoun with several countries in order to secure further support and assistance for Lebanon.
She stressed that the state stands by the people, emphasizing that all institutions are mobilized to assist citizens and displaced persons as quickly as possible.
