
Economy Minister Amer Al-Bissat revealed, in an interview with LBCI, that his meeting with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa focused on strengthening economic cooperation between Lebanon and Syria, noting that Al-Sharaa stressed the priority of the economy and investment in building a solid relationship between the two countries.
Al-Bissat explained that the Syrian side expressed a desire to move economic relations forward, calling for intensified efforts to activate joint investments. He pointed out that Lebanese expertise in the Syrian market constitutes an important factor, and that there are broad opportunities that can be built upon.
He added that the discussions addressed a number of vital files, including energy, transport, railways, oil, tourism, and the retail sector, affirming that President Al-Sharaa emphasized the role of the private sector in leading the path of economic cooperation and opening new horizons between the two countries.
