The Litani River Authority announced that the heavy rainfall over the past two days has provided an excellent water resource, contributing to increased hydropower generation and higher water reserves.
Thanks to the full readiness of its hydropower plants, the Authority diverted water from the Jezzine waterfalls and the Bissri River to its production facilities, reaching a total output of approximately 80 megawatts today.
The Authority also benefited from the Litani River’s inflows to increase the storage level of Lake Qaraoun, recording an increase of more than 3 million cubic meters of water over the past 24 hours.
The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to efficiently managing water resources to maximize the benefits of rainfall and strengthen both water and energy security under the current circumstances.
