U.S. President Donald Trump announced that his country is not in a hurry to reach an agreement with Iran, noting that Washington still has additional targets it intends to strike before the end of operations. Trump said:
“We have many targets we want to strike there before the war ends.”
He confirmed that the options on the table include sensitive strategic files, adding:
“Controlling Iran’s oil is an option,”
“Our oil production is greater than that of Saudi Arabia and Russia,”
“Iran should not impose transit fees through the Strait of Hormuz.”
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump stated that the United States does not rely on it, explaining:
“Requesting help from NATO countries to open the Strait of Hormuz was a test for those countries, and we do not need them.”
He also addressed relations with NATO, expressing clear dissatisfaction with the positions of some member states:
“We have always been ready when NATO countries needed us for protection, but I cannot be certain we will do so in the future.”
Trump also commented on the United Kingdom’s stance, saying:
“Starmer is a nice person, but he surprised me when he refused to help despite what we have provided to his country.”
He concluded with direct criticism of the alliance, stating:
“We will not forget the alliance abandoning the United States.”
