
Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar held a security and administrative meeting in his office dedicated to following up on the traffic congestion situation in the capital, Beirut, and assessing the steps implemented in recent weeks to regulate traffic flow and ease bottlenecks on main roads and at the entrances to the capital.
The meeting was attended by Director General of the Internal Security Forces Raed Abdullah, Beirut Governor Marwan Abboud, Secretary of the Central Internal Security Council Sami Nassif, along with a number of concerned officers.
The meeting reviewed field measures carried out on the streets of the capital, evaluating their effectiveness and the extent of their contribution to reducing traffic pressure and improving the smooth flow of movement.
Al-Hajjar stressed the need to continue taking additional measures to confront the traffic crisis, emphasizing the importance of ongoing coordination among the various competent authorities to ensure easier movement for citizens within Beirut.
He also issued instructions to continue strengthening the deployment of traffic patrols and intensifying the presence of security personnel at vital intersections and main roads, in a way that helps regulate traffic and reduce daily congestion.
