Iran’s Supreme National Security Council announced the establishment of a new body tasked with managing the Strait of Hormuz, in a move seen as a notable escalation in the management of maritime traffic in the region.
In this context, a statement circulated via the council’s official account on the X platform, issued by what was called the “Persian Gulf Strait Authority,” indicating that it would provide followers with real-time updates on navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and related developments.
An account affiliated with the naval force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also reposted the same statement, underscoring the adoption of this new mechanism in managing matters related to the strategic maritime passage.
